The rainwater from the roof generally should be filtered
with a fine filter before entering the storage tank ( < 0.2mm
or 0.008 inches). For non-potable uses there is no need for additional
filtering either on the suction or pressure side of the pump. The
reduction in flow resistance will enhance the longevity of the pump.
Additional filters can develop into an area which will promote the
growth of bacteria on the filter insert.
The simple but high precision WISY filters use surface
tension (adhesion) in conjunction with a fine stainless steel filter
mesh which excludes unwelcome debris. By this process about 90%
of the rainwater is captured, filtered and diverted into a storage
tank, while the remaining water carrying leaves and other debris
is redirected into the sewer or soakaway.
